In the audiovisual and live-events industry, signal integrity and transmission-infrastructure stability are critical. Professional fibre-optic cabling has become the standard solution for demanding environments, where reliability, immunity to electromagnetic interference and physical durability are essential. Lossless, Interference-Free Transmission

Fibre-optic cables transmit signals using pulses of light, completely eliminating the effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI). Unlike copper or coaxial cables, which may degrade over time through oxidation, corrosion or increased rigidity, fibre retains its properties for decades when correctly handled and stored.

This allows it to be reused across multiple installations without loss of quality, protecting the investment over the long term.

High-Capacity, Multi-Signal Transmission

Fibre-optic cabling can carry audio, video, data, network traffic and even DMX or Ethernet control signals simultaneously through multiplexing systems such as WDM.

This simplifies cabling, reduces installation time and allows multiple signal types to be centralised over a single optical link.

The adoption of fibre-optic technology in live events is not simply a passing trend, but an increasingly evident technical necessity. Fibre optics is currently the only physical transmission medium capable of supporting sustained data rates above 10, 25 and even 40 Gb/s, meeting the requirements of next-generation video protocols, multichannel IP signals and real-time remote production.

While copper cables, such as Cat6 or SDI coaxial cables, reach their technical limits at around 10 Gb/s—and only over restricted distances and under carefully controlled conditions—fibre supports significantly higher transmission speeds without requiring signal regenerators or active converters at frequent intervals.

The latest requirements of 8K video, HDR and 120 fps, together with IP-based workflows such as ST 2110, NDI, Dante AV Ultra and Art-Net, demand stable, extremely high-capacity interfaces.
